Well, some women are single because the perfect man doesn’t exist. No, that’s not true. I would love to spend all my life with someone as imperfect as me. But still somewhere we do picture our guy as someone perfect who would make coffee for us, bring us flowers, remember all the dates, calls once in a day atleast, goes shopping, bears our tantrums, watch us sleep and that leads to expectations but we forget that men are human too like us.
The version of Mr. right has changed with time. The current generation expects too much from their partner unlike our parents who are more understanding and less demanding than us. My parents are just perfect for each other. Those who say, love marriages have complications haven’t met my parents who were always supportive of each other. So my dad is a perfect man (to me and my mom). Others who say, there’s no fun in arranged marriages should first clear their mind that arranged marriages are not forced marriages.
A perfect man or a perfect soulmate – no study so far has proved that they exist. Why do we then marry the ones who are not perfect? Because we do not have a choice. Infact, life would be too monotonous with a perfect guy.
Where do we get this ideal man funda from? We grow up reading Cindrella and Snow-white and we watch those chick-flicks with a happily ever after and not to forget, the men we see in the house. Our daddies are perfect because we love them a lot. So if you love your man, he’ll just be perfect for you.
Listing out what an ideal man is suppose to have:
- Sense of humour: Life’s getting tougher and you need a good laugh to relieve your stress.
- Good-looks: We say, looks don’t matter but the man should be good enough to make us fall for him without the looks.
- Intelligence: You need it the most. It would be tough to spend your life with someone dumb and there’re chances of your children also being dumb. Jokes apart - Intellectual compatibility matters. You got to think about your future as well.
- Honest: without honesty, you can’t survive in a relationship.
- Financially stable: There’s an age old adage - Money talks honey but it doesn't do all the talking and isn't everything.
- Caring: life’s all about sharing and caring.
- Loving: love doesn’t make the world go round, it just makes the ride worthwhile.
- Sensitive to our feelings
- supportive and Understanding
- Goal-oriented: that’s going to make your guy a man
- don’t complain: it’s something that you should leave on us.
- open-minded and practical
- not possessive: may be, sometimes you can
- Responsible: act according to your age. Being serious and looking at the brighter side of the life are two different things.
- Good to his mother – The guy who isn’t good to his mother can certainly not be my man. If he doesn’t love and respect the woman who brought him into this world then he can never love his wife.
And last but not the least, they don’t fall in love several times. They fall in love just once and forever. But exceptions are always there. One’s first love is always perfect until you find the second one :P
BTW ISN”T THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?
This ideal man concept doesn’t make any sense to me. Have you ever met a guy who’s perfect and is arrogant? Well, if he’s arrogant then it takes away the perfection from him. Agreed, we should aim to be perfect but I believe that its humanly impossible to be perfect, be it a man or a woman. Perfect man doesn’t mean a man without flaws. Rather we should look for a real man who behaves human.
So what to look for: Mr. Close-enough-to-perfect :D This isn’t about finding a perfect one- its about finding someone who can keep you happy and that’s more than enough :) No two people in this world can be same so enjoy the similarities and respect the differences :)
Neither a perfect man exists nor a perfect woman. What about perfect love or relationships? They don’t exist either but they are made. Just a belief and hope none of us get disappointed.
